Help Judith Fight Lymphoma

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted people:

Our beloved grandmother, Judith Atiencia, was diagnosed with lymphoma at the end of December. She is 73 years old — a strong, generous, and loving woman who has spent her entire life caring for others. Now, she needs our help.

Judith was born in Gualaceo, Ecuador, and immigrated to the United States in 1994, chasing the dream of a better life for her family. She and her husband worked tirelessly for 15 years at a window factory, where they were dedicated, hardworking, and honest. Unfortunately, the factory closed in 2008, leaving them without work and forcing them into early retirement.

Despite many hardships, Judith has always been the backbone of our family — a devoted mother of 5 children, grandmother of 9 grandchildren, loving wife, and an exemplary sister. Her strength and warmth have touched everyone who knows her, and now she is facing the fight of her life.

Treatment Costs

Judith is undergoing an integrative cancer treatment plan, which includes alternative and supportive therapies — none of which are covered by health insurance and all of which come at a high monthly cost:

Locoregional Hyperthermia – $250 per session (2 sessions/month = $500)

IV Laser Therapy with PDT (Photodynamic Therapy) – $185 per session (2 sessions/month = $370)

Supplements – Approximately $590/month

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy – $45 per session (2 sessions/month = $90)

Total Monthly Cost: $1,550

Judith and her husband rely solely on Social Security, receiving around $1,200 per month between the two of them. With such limited income, covering these life-saving treatments has become nearly impossible without outside help.

How You Can Help

Our family is doing everything we can to support Judith. We’ve even organized a charity bingo event to raise funds for her treatments, but unfortunately, it’s still not enough to cover the ongoing medical expenses.

That’s why we are turning to you — to help close that gap and ensure Judith continues receiving the treatment she so desperately needs. Nuestra querida abuelita, Judith Atiencia, fue diagnosticada con linfoma a finales de diciembre. Tiene 73 años — es una mujer fuerte, generosa y amorosa que ha pasado toda su vida cuidando de los demás. Ahora, ella necesita de nuestra ayuda.

Judith nació en Gualaceo, Ecuador, y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1994, persiguiendo el sueño de una vida mejor para su familia. Ella y su esposo trabajaron incansablemente durante 15 años en una fábrica de ventanas, donde se dedicaron con esfuerzo y honestidad. Lamentablemente, la fábrica cerró en 2008, lo que los dejó sin trabajo y los obligó a tomar una jubilación anticipada.

A pesar de las dificultades, Judith siempre ha sido el pilar de nuestra familia — una madre dedicada de 5 hijos, abuela de 9 hermosos nietos, esposa amorosa y hermana ejemplar. Su fortaleza y calidez han tocado a todos los que la conocen, y ahora está enfrentando la lucha de su vida.

El Costo del Tratamiento

Judith está siguiendo un tratamiento integrativo contra el cáncer, que incluye terapias alternativas y de apoyo — todas ellas no cubiertas por el seguro médico y que representan un alto costo mensual:

Hipertermia locorregional – $250 por sesión (2 sesiones al mes = $500)

Terapia láser IV con PDT (Terapia Fotodinámica) – $185 por sesión (2 sesiones al mes = $370)

Suplementos – Aproximadamente $590 al mes

Terapia de ondas de choque extracorpóreas – $45 por sesión (2 sesiones al mes = $90)
