The Side by Side Charter School community is raising money for one of our own, our beloved Pre-K teacher, Judie Goldstein. Judie has been at Side by Side Charter School since 1997. She is passionate about teaching and has devoted much of her life to helping our littlest students learn to love school.

Unfortunately, Judie was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. This year, her symptoms progressed and she was forced to step away from teaching to focus on her battle against this horrible disease.

Her daughter Carlie has been her rock and has displayed incredible strength throughout this entire process, but this year has been a struggle. ALS is a progressive disease and Judie's needs have increased greatly this year. At this point, she needs help with daily tasks, as well as round the clock medical care, which is incredibly draining, both emotionally and financially.

During her time at Side by Side, Judie was always the first to offer help and the last to ask for it. She would never ask, but right now Judie and Carlie need our help.

The purpose of this go fund me fundraiser is to raise awareness of ALS, and support Judie and her family through this difficult time. The money will be used for the many things that she needs to navigate life with ALS and to make life a little easier for her family.
