Jude is a freshman tuba player in the LHHS Wildcat Band, and he’s always been eager to help others. Recently, while walking home from an evening band event where he mentored middle school band members, Jude was struck by a car in a hit and run accident. The incident has left him and his family facing unexpected medical expenses, and the road to recovery will be a challenging one for them all.

Jude’s mother is doing everything she can to support his healing while also caring for her three children. The financial strain of medical bills is overwhelming, and the family could use a helping hand from the community. Jude’s dedication to music and his willingness to give back to younger students show just how special he is, and now he needs our support more than ever.

I have been speaking with Jude's mom, Ijeoma, and she is so very grateful for the support from our Lake Highlands community. The funds raised will be sent to Ijeoma to help her cover daily costs while she is missing work to care for Jude and will help cover the medical bills for his multiple injuries that require multiple specialist medical visits for the next 3-6 months. As a fellow Lake Highlands Band mom myself, I am grateful for this wonderful community of support we have built around Jude's family at this time.
