My name is Ken White and with the assistance of my daughter, Avery White, I'm setting up this GoFundMe page for my friend of nearly 43 years, Jude Meyers. Jude worked for 43 years as an educator and administrator in the Ohio school system. He retired in 2024 and was able to enjoy a couple of years of retirement before being diagnosed with bladder cancer. Jude has had such a positive impact on so many students beginning in his early days in education as a history teacher, basketball and track coach, to his retirement as Superintendent.

Jude and his family are bravely facing this challenge, but as you can imagine the hospital bills are starting to add up. No one could ever be prepared for such a life-changing event. It is my hope that Jude's friends from across the country would consider a small donation or just say a word of prayer for he and his family at this time.

Below is a story from Jude's wife, Courtney.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

My husband is currently battling stage 3 bladder cancer, and the road has been far more complicated and painful than we ever could have imagined. What we thought would be a straightforward treatment plan has turned into a series of setbacks.

He has already had to endure multiple surgeries, procedures, and unexpected emergency situations that have led to extended hospital stays. Each time we think we’re moving forward, something else happens that forces us to pause and regroup.

Because of these complications, his much-needed chemotherapy and eventual bladder removal surgery have been delayed—treatment we know is critical in his fight. Watching him go through this, while knowing the next steps keep getting pushed back, has been heartbreaking and incredibly overwhelming.

Aside from me, his son and his grandson are his whole world. His grandson just turned 4 in January, and he proudly calls him “PaPa.” The moment his grandson sees him, his whole face lights up—running to him, full of excitement, ready to play, laugh, and just be together. They love spending time side by side, whether it’s something as simple as a trip to the store or making memories together at Cedar Point. My husband becomes just as playful and carefree as his grandson in those moments, and that joy is something our whole family holds onto.

Thinking about them, and how much they need him, is what keeps us holding on and fighting through even the hardest days.

During all of this, I am by his side as his caregiver, doing everything I can to support him through each day. But the reality is that the medical bills, time away from work, and ongoing care needs are quickly becoming more than we can manage on our own.

We are asking for help. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward his medical care and help relieve some of the financial stress so we can focus on what truly matters—his fight and our time together.
