Hi, our names are Juan and Danielle Hernandez. I went back and forth on if I should or shouldn't do this. In June of 2025, my husband went to the hospital due to his leg and foot swelling to the point he had blisters on it. We found out that he had the flesh-eating disease, and on July 4th, 2025, he had to have his left foot amputated. Since he's been off work, we have struggled to make all the bill payments on time, but we always made it happen by the skin of our teeth.
On October 9th, something just didn't seem right with his leg, so we went to the doctor, and he sent him for an MRI. We found out on the 10th he had to go back to the hospital because he needed surgery again. He had a huge abscess at the end of his bone, so they went back and did an amputation revision (it's like an amputation to his amputation). In the mix of all that, he was septic, and they pumped him full of so many antibiotics that his kidneys began to shut down. He spent 29 days in the hospital till he was able to come home. He now has to do dialysis 3 days a week.
We are struggling so bad this time around. We don't like to ask for help, but we have no choice in the matter. Between me not making enough on my checks and the price of gas and other things, we are about to have an eviction notice and possibly our car taken, and we can't afford any of that. We are the kind of people that if we have it, you do too. Please, if you can help, we would be very grateful. God bless you.
