In the first week of March, my husband, Juan Landazuri, suffered two heart attacks. By the time he was taken to one of the local hospitals in Salinas, it was determined by medical professionals that he needed critical intervention in a facility that specialized in cardiovascular health. Juan was transferred to San Francisco where he has been undergoing different procedures the last couple of weeks, but unfortunately, his heart is not functioning at the needed capacity, and doctors are recommending a heart transplant or surgery for an assistive device to keep his heart pumping.
During this time, while Juan is in the Intensive Care Unit, I had to take time off from work to be by his side in San Francisco. Medical bills are starting to come in, and Juan is not near his discharge date. Additionally, Juan was recommended to stay in an apartment nearby the hospital while he waits for and recovers from whichever intervention doctors recommend. None of it will be covered by insurance. Any financial help will be appreciated by our family
