Support Juanessa Scott’s Journey to a Comfortable Home

Hello, my name is Juanessa Scott, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read my story. In 2022, my life changed forever in a way I never expected. I walked into the hospital for what was supposed to be a routine vascular surgery to restore blood flow to my leg. But after complications arose, and without my consent or that of my family, doctors made the devastating decision to amputate both of my legs in what they call the "Life over Limbs" policy. In an instant, my life as I knew it was gone.

What followed has been an overwhelming journey of adjustment and heartache. Plans I had for my retirement – updating my home little by little, enjoying life, and going fishing – all shifted. Now, I’m facing physical challenges and financial burdens that I never anticipated, and I need your help.

I live in a very small house that wasn’t designed with wheelchair access in mind. To make my home safe and comfortable for me, I need to remodel and make some essential accommodations. The funds raised will go directly toward making these changes, including ramps for easier access, widening doorways, installing pull-down cabinets, replacing appliances with more accessible ones like a smaller fridge and dishwasher, and covering my medical bills.
