I am Esther Goring-Galan, widow of Juan Martin Galan, who died peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday morning. We are devastated by his sudden absence and flooded with memories of the life that we we shared with him over the years.
Juan was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and came to the U.S. at the age of 4 years. He grew up in Wheaton, Illinois the second of six siblings. We met in high school and became sweethearts, marrying in our teens. We have been married for 27 years. We raised our children in Wheaton and Addison, Illinois. They are in their teens now. Over the years Juan worked in various jobs, most recently as a manager at QuickStop, but he was a jack of all trades. As many as of you know that he would always lend a hand if he could, he had a gentle soul and was very caring. Had a great sense of humor and had the room laughing. A Class clown was always willing to do the wildest things to get someone to crack smile. His love for nature, history, IT, as well as a good mario kart tournament with our family.
Juan is survived by his wife, Sandra Esther Goring-Galan, children Ethan (19) Kasi (17) and Skye (14), 5 siblings, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Given that Juan died without life insurance, we are raising funds to provide him a worthy sendoff. Any amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will be used for his cremation, memorial service, and associated costs.
Thank you in advance for your generous support in providing our loving husband and father with the farewell that he deserves.
We will keep everyone updated with a memorial service date/time.
Juan Martín Galán, March 20, 1980-August 16, 2024
