Support Juan Grimaldo’s Kidney Transplant

Juan Grimaldo has always been the steady provider for our family, working hard to support us through every challenge. This past year, our lives changed when Juan was diagnosed with kidney failure and began dialysis treatments. The journey has been unexpected, but we’ve been surrounded by love, support, and prayers from family and friends, which has inspired us to keep moving forward.

Juan’s kidney transplant is scheduled in just 24 days, and we are incredibly grateful that his sister is generously donating her kidney to him. This act of love means that both Juan and his sister will be recovering at the same time, which brings twice the strain on our families. The funds raised will also help cover her expenses during this period, ensuring both families have the support they need.

We’ll need to stay near the transplant hospital, which is two and a half hours from home, for at least two weeks after surgery. During this time, I’ll be by Juan’s side in the hospital and throughout his recovery, which is expected to last a minimum of 12 weeks. I’ll be out of work for at least the first two weeks and will need to take Juan to frequent follow-up appointments, so our family will be relying on the support of his mom, siblings, and my siblings as well. The costs for lodging, parking, mileage, and food during our stay, along with ongoing medication expenses and the medical bills from months of dialysis, have added up quickly.

Juan has always put our family first, and it’s difficult for him to step away from work. The funds raised will help cover our living and medical expenses, as well as support his sister, giving both families the peace of mind to focus on healing and recovery. We’re grateful for any support and encouragement as we take this next step together.
