Support for Juan Galicia: Rebuilding After a Devastating Loss
Our community is devastated to share that our friend and HOA Maintenance Manager, Juan Galicia, lost everything in a house fire this past weekend.
Juan has spent years taking care of our homes and our complex. Now, it’s our turn to take care of him. The fire, which originated in the long-neglected vacant lot next door, claimed not only Juan’s home and all of his belongings but also his two beloved dogs who were at home while Juan and his family were at church.
For years, Juan and the neighbors have reached out to the city regarding the safety hazards of that lot, but those warnings went unheeded. Now, Juan is facing the unimaginable reality of starting over from scratch while grieving the loss of his pets.
How We Can Help
- We are reaching out to our neighbors, friends, and the wider community to help Juan get back on his feet. We are collecting:
- Financial Donations: To help with immediate housing costs, clothing, and the long process of replacing essentials.
- Household Supplies: We are looking for kitchenware, linens, toiletries, and basic furniture.
- Gift Cards: Grocery stores, hardware stores, and general retailers are incredibly helpful for immediate needs.
To donate physical items: Please contact Ramsin using the Marina Strand Gmail account to coordinate a drop-off location within the complex.
Juan has always been the first person to show up when we have a problem. He is a hardworking, kind, and vital part of our daily lives. No donation is too small, and every bit of support—whether a contribution or a share of this post—makes a massive difference.
Thank you for showing Juan that he is not alone in this.
