Support Juan Carlos Rivera Jr.’s Road to Recovery

On July 23, 2025, our lives were changed forever.

My son, Juan Carlos Rivera Jr., was involved in a tragic car accident that left him critically injured. He suffered a collapsed lung, a punctured liver, multiple broken ribs, and severe spinal damage that required an intense 7-hour surgery to stabilize his back with screws and rods.

It’s a miracle that Juan is still with us today. We thank God we still have him here with us.

Juan is only 17 years old, and he's a passionate basketball player with dreams and determination far bigger than his injuries. Doctors say it will take at least a year or more for a full recovery but if you know Juan, you know he's already fighting harder than anyone expected. He’s now in a rehabilitation facility and making small but steady progress every day.

Since the accident, I haven’t left my son’s side. I'm a Delaware resident, but my entire life is now centered around helping Juan heal and being there for every step, every movement, every hard day and small win. He can’t be left alone due to the complexity of his condition and the level of care he needs.

This journey has placed a significant emotional and financial strain on our entire family, not only on myself, but the sacrifices Juan’s mother and his sisters have faced are overwhelming. We are all trying to keep our family households afloat. While we’re trying to maintain our daily obligations, our son’s recovery is our top priority.
