**Support for Our Family After a Devastating Accident**

On Saturday August 24, 2024 our beloved family member, Juan Cardenas, was involved in a horrible car accident while hauling a vehicle. Despite all safety precautions, a semi-truck rear-ended the truck he was towing, causing a violent collision. The impact was so intense that it caused his vehicle to flip, after being struck by the semi on interstate 29 in Monona County leaving him with severe injuries. He suffered severe head trauma, that led to loosing piece of his head scalp, on the left side, along with bone fractures in the spine, broken ribs, and fractured collarbone on his right side, due to hard impact of the collision having only the seatbelt to save him. On top of this, he is diabetic, which further complicates his recovery. After being airlifted to Omaha for medical treatment, we faced frustrating delays and inadequate treatment. The hospital initially wanted to send him home despite his inability to do anything. Thankfully, after much insistence, he was transferred to a better facility for observation and care. Juan Cardenas is a loving husband and loving father of 5, and an amazing grandpa! His family is now facing an incredibly difficult road ahead. We ask kindly, for your support to help cover the overwhelming hospital expenses and his long-term rehabilitation. We want to ensure that he receives the care he desperately needs while also seeking justice for the negligence that led to this horrific accident.
