Hello, friends, family, and strangers. I'm Jonathan but you probabaly recognize me as JT.

On December 12, i finally received the notification plaguing my every waking thought. NYU decisions dropped and i managed the impossible, i got accepted into NYU Shanghai. Although i understood the cost would be high, i was determined to make this work. Except i'll admit, i've been treating it as a future me problem ;). However as many of you already know, i'm not as financially advantaged compared to my peers which have already been immensly generous. Being part of a single mother household, barely making ends meet. One expense always held the power to ruin our lives as it has done time and time again.

So when it came time for enrollment, you can imagine my shock then subsequent horror when i learned that i had to pay a $500 enrollment deposit. No negotiating, no waivers. That one expense has come back to haunt us once again, and this time it means we won't be able to afford rent this month.

So i humbly ask my community, if not for anything then please allow me the chance to fulfill this once in a lifetime opportunity.
