Synopsis:
In New York City, 1969, David, a young record store owner, reveals the breakdown of his closest relationships during a single therapy session with Dr. Preiss. As David navigates the turbulent emotions of his friends and family, secrets are revealed, accusations of infidelity surface, and repressed desires come to light–all within the four walls of his record shop and bar. The group– comprised of David’s partner Barbara, his sister Deirdre, and their friends Mike, Charlie, Emily, and Violet –struggles to hold on to their connections amidst growing tensions. The ongoing feud between Barbara and Deirdre intensifies the situation, symbolizing deeper conflicts that remain unspoken, contrasting with David’s desire for conversation and connection, mirrored in the vinyl records he reluctantly agrees to sell at Barbara’s urging. As each person in David’s life drifts away, avoiding the difficult conversations that could bring them closer, David is left alone, craving the connection he desperately seeks. In the end, it becomes clear that in their silence, there were conversations to be had conversations that might have saved them all.
