For anyone who might not know, J.R. Hutzel was involved in a serious accident on 7/7. He sustained a break in his left hip, 2 breaks in his right hip, 2 broken ribs on his right side, and a broken right clavicle; this doesn't include the stitches in his right foot nor the extensive bruising and accompanying pains. He's been admitted to Roanoke Memorial since that time, having been airlifted following the accident. There's no current timetable for discharge or recovery aside from being told he's likely looking at 10 weeks of bed rest to allow the hips to heal naturally. He will likely step down to a rehab facility at some point following his current hospital stay. His car is totaled, and he's obviously going to be out of work for awhile. While we have no idea of the level of need he ultimately might face I wanted to get ahead of it and create a fund to support the family moving forward.
