Friends and family,

As of April 15, we want to share an update and ask for continued support for my cousin, Sirena Calvillo, a devoted single mother who has always worked tirelessly to provide for her two children and has never been one to ask for help.

Over Easter weekend, her 9-year-old son, Jr., was tragically run over by a car. The impact caused severe injuries, including fractures to both sides of his pelvis. Because the vehicle was low to the ground, it also caused significant damage to his skin. He has already undergone multiple surgeries, including skin grafting, and will need additional procedures as part of his recovery.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has already donated, prayed, and reached out. Your support truly means so much. Through the previous GoFundMe, $1,535 was raised toward the $20,000 goal we are trying to reach to help cover medical deductibles, daily living expenses, and the financial burden of Sirena being out of work while caring for her son.

Unfortunately, that GoFundMe was taken down after being mistakenly reported as spam. We want to reassure everyone that this is a very real and urgent situation.

Sirena will now be out of work for at least 8 more weeks without pay as she cares for Jr. full-time. She is also traveling frequently for his therapy, with daily appointments and ongoing medical care.

At this time, Jr. remains in a wheelchair due to the pain and severity of his injuries. His progress is slow, but he is moving forward. We are standing in faith and believing for his complete healing, that he will walk again and regain his strength.
