J.R. is currently undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital in Plano, where he's receiving the best possible care to fight this relentless disease. Due to immunosuppression, J.R. will be unable to attend school for the rest of this school year, and his mother, Emily, will take on the role of teaching him at home. Financially, this means she will be unable to continue many of her freelance projects to ensure J.R. receives the care and attention he needs, both with treatment and education.
