On December 3rd, John “JR” Powell lost his mother, Charity Powell, and his six-year-old twin siblings, Ellianna and Maverick, in an unfathomable tragedy.

As JR prepares to lay his mother to rest, he is also navigating a complex legal process to protect her rights, honor her wishes, and pursue accountability. He is maintaining legal counsel while facing a system far larger and more powerful than himself—one that requires persistence, resources, and resolve.

One of the most deeply personal battles JR is facing is his effort to honor his family’s wishes by having Ellianna and Maverick laid to rest alongside their mother—a decision rooted in love, faith, and the belief that families belong together.

This fundraiser is intended to help cover funeral and burial expenses for Charity Powell, as well as ongoing legal and court-related costs as JR continues forward during this incredibly difficult time.
