Support Jp's 5th Struggle with Leukemia and Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
With a heavy heart, I’m reaching out to share that my brother’s leukemia has relapsed for the 5th time, despite being in remission for a year and seven months. At just 27 years old, he has endured countless rounds of chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and medications—all in the fight to live a full and healthy life.
On September 18, 2024, we received the heartbreaking news of his relapse, requiring immediate treatment and preparations for a second bone marrow transplant. The very next day, he was admitted to UI Health in Chicago to begin chemotherapy and undergo numerous procedures. His first hospital stay lasted 33 days, after which he returned home for about a month to allow his body to recover.
Amidst the challenges, we received a blessing: a donor was found on short notice—a European man willing to help give my brother a fighting chance. On November 27, 2024, he was admitted again for his second bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, this stay was even tougher, lasting 43 days due to complications, including an unexpected case of appendicitis.
Finally, on January 8, 2025, my brother came back home. While he is recovering well and grateful to be surrounded by family and friends, the journey ahead is still long and challenging.
We’re humbly asking for your support during this time. All donations will go directly toward medical bills, transportation to and from treatments, nutrition to aid his recovery, and any other expenses necessary to help him heal.
Your kindness and generosity mean the world to our family. Thank you for being a part of his fight and for giving him hope for a brighter future
