I’m fundraising for my dear friend Joylyn Bukovac and her little boy, Bruce.

Joylyn was hit head-on by a truck that was flying down the wrong side of the road. By a miracle, she survived, but she’s left with painful injuries, a totaled car, and a very long road to recovery.

Here’s what makes this even harder: Joylyn is a single mom to Bruce, a sweet little boy with special needs. Bruce has autism, is nonverbal, and was born with clubbed feet — Joylyn has poured every ounce of her energy and every extra dollar she’s had into his therapies, treatments, and daily needs. She's never been able to set money aside for “what ifs" because caring for Bruce always came first.

In addition to her totaled car, she’s facing medical bills, physical therapy, and still has to somehow get Bruce to his many appointments while working full-time.

Joylyn is one of the strongest, most selfless people I know. She never complains, even though she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. But right now, she truly needs help.

We’re raising funds to help cover:

• A safe, reliable car and new car seats for Bruce

• Medical and physical therapy bills from the accident

• Everyday expenses that keep piling up while she heals
