Support Joy, a 75-Year-Old Grandmother in Need

Donation protected
Dear friends of Joy,

We humbly ask for your support. Joy is surrendering to ask for help in paying bills and essentials as she is in a time of need. It is imperative that she receives support in her elder years . She has been dealing with chronic physical pain in her body which has been increasing and makes movement more difficult due to osteoporosis. Joy works more than a 75 year old grandma should do, always busy and still not making ends meet. All is counted as sufficient whether donations large or small. Asking those with means to dig deep for Joy at this critical time. And of course $10-20 makes a difference. Let's make this count!!

A message from Joy:

Dear friends, I am writing to ask for your help.
When I moved from Oregon to Colorado, I started my chiropractic practice and it was successful, supporting me in a reasonable fashion, including being able to go to Brazil once or twice a year. When Covid came along, it destroyed my practice and my way of making a living. At that time I moved from Denver to Boulder and started everything anew. I have built my practice on a small scale; it is very competitive for alternative healers in Boulder. As I realized this, I resorted to driving for Uber. I have done this for the last six years and it has been grueling; I often spend 10 to 14 hoursa day driving, to barely make my rent. I am not afraid of hard work, but at 75 years of age I can no longer sustain these hours, and have not come up with another option for my financial support. Now with Christmas and the economy being as it is, there has been a huge influx of Uber drivers since Thanksgiving, and I am rarely getting rides; I am going out and spending four hours and making $20.

My Social Security does not cover my car payment and insurance, much less rent. I do not qualify for Affordable Housing because of how Uber does their book keeping; (i.e. gross vs net).

I also need hearing aids that are not covered by Medicare. I need help now to pay my rent and expenses and to get the hearing aids. Of course, any and all donations would be helpful.

I am good at spelling and editing and have helped someone proofread and revamp legal documents recently. I did that kind of work when I was married to my husband who was an attorney. If you know someone who could use that kind of help I would be grateful. I am also in the middle of doing a promotion for both my Chiropractic and Healing practices. I had thought of applying to work at my gym, but the hours that they would give me at minimum wage would not support me. I have also considered caregiving, but could not do any heavy lifting, so I am looking at being a caregiver for developmentally disabled individuals

If you know of anyone who would be able to help me long-term, making monthly donations for a few months until I figure out what other options I have, I would be most grateful. I am not sure what my next step is: to become an online entrepreneur, or somehow become qualified for help that I am not now qualified for.

Please know that it is very difficult for me to ask for help, as I have supported myself all of my life. I have been in the doctrine for 30 years and have focused my life on being of service.

With love, Joy
