On 10/15/25, my sister and brother-in-law welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Jovie Ophelia Jones, into the world. Unfortunately, shortly after the emergency C-section, Jovie was having trouble getting her O2 levels to rise. She was taken to Children’s Hospital where it was discovered she has Shone’s Syndrome. This means that one of the chambers of her heart is too small to pump blood successfully to her body. She was rushed into surgery shortly after to place a stent as a temporary fix for her heart. Jovie is currently stable, but will be at Children’s for the foreseeable future. The doctors are hopeful that in the next week she will be healthy enough to undergo open-heart surgery to fix the part of her heart that is too small.

My sister would like to be able to stay in the hospital with Jovie, but they will need help with rent and other bills while she is out of work.
