9-2-2025 CSU Oncology Update:
Met with the Oncologist at CSU in Fort Collins.
Since this cancer is so extremely rare, the Dr is requesting a pathology review, asking all the other pathologists on staff to look at Jovie’s samples to make sure everyone is on the same page as far as this being a chondrosarcoma of the spleen.
Jovie will be having a PET/CT scan on Thursday. This is to check if there is an actual cancerous process of the bone somewhere else, as well as any active spread of the disease. Chemotherapy will follow, but what type and how much will depend on what the scan tells us.
Little girl still has a long road to go, so please keep her in your thoughts and send your good vibes and prayers her way. Thanks much!
8/14/25 Update on Jovie:
I was devastated yesterday with the news I was dreading to hear. Her pathology report came back with two cancers. One of them is one of the rarest cancers in dogs, less than 1% of dogs have this type of cancer. Next step is to consult with an oncologist. She has an appointment next Friday. Please continue to keep Jovie in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all for your donations and your kind words.

This past week has been one of the hardest of my life. My sweet girl Jovie — my best friend, and my heart — suddenly became very sick. After rushing her to the vet, we learned she had a massive 4-pound tumor in her abdomen. She needed emergency surgery, and they had to remove not only the tumor but also her entire spleen to save her life.
Jovie has been with me through so many ups and downs, always there with her unconditional love. Now she needs me — and I’m reaching out because I can’t do this alone.
Her surgery and ongoing care are incredibly expensive, and I’m facing costs that are overwhelming. If you are able to help in any way, whether by donating or sharing this post, it would mean the world to me and to Jovie. Every little bit makes a difference.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for keeping Jovie in your thoughts and prayers. She is my whole heart, and I’m so grateful for any support you can give.
With love and gratitude
Karen and Jovie
