***UPDATE! UNFORTUNATELY MY FATHER HAS PASSED AWAY AND THE FUNDS WILL NOW BE GOING TOWARDS THE TRANSFER OF HIS BODY AND FUNERAL EXPENSES***

My name is Carla and I am the daughter of Jovanny Guilamo. On July 18, 2024, I lost contact with my dad who was currently in Port Arthur, Texas. After multiple days of looking for my father, I discovered that he was found and admitted on July 20, 2024, at a medical center in Texas, alert and walking. As days passed, his condition worsened by the hour and he became unresponsive the same day. I was not able to get much information from the hospital prior to my arrival due to HIPPA and after an 18-hour drive, I arrived at the hospital to find my father unconscious and unresponsive. Everything worsened by the day.

My father now has a feeding tube, is on a ventilator, presents with a stroke, and demonstrates seizure-like activities. The doctor gave us little to no hope of him surviving and after multiple attempts of having a transfer, my father was accepted and flown out to a hospital in Austin, Texas which specializes in all the cares he needs. At this current hospital, it was confirmed he has a massive stroke on the left side of the brain and is in neurocritical conditions with a lot of factors affecting his health. If he recovers, this will be a long stay as it will be months of needed time to recover. We, his family, are from Chicago and have no family in Texas. Expenses have been large and difficult as I have stopped working to take care and advocate for my father and his health as he is not able to.

Our goal is to, when stable, transfer my father to Chicago where we can all take care of him and provide for him. With this help, it will cover expenses like food and hotels on occasions as well as I am not from here and he is unstable to be transferred.

Overall this money will help with his transfer once he is stable and expenses while I am here taking care and advocating for my father.
