Josue was rushed to the ER Thursday afternoon (4.9.26) where he got admitted quickly to the PCU. He suffered a severe asthma attack that caused a rupture leading to an air leak called pneumomediastinum. Unfortunately, he was not doing well and his condition was worsening. So he was transferred to the ICU and he had to get intubated and sedated while also getting medically paralyzed. The ventilator is breathing for him and this is allowing his lungs to rest and heal as well as the extra subcutaneous air to be reabsorbed into his body. He is doing better but he unfortunately does not have any health insurance and an ICU visit is definitely going to be a huge charge.
