Hi, my name is Mel and I’m starting this GoFundMe in hopes to alleviate financial strain due to unexpected vet bills. My close friends Morgan and Daniel are currently facing every fur parents worst nightmare as their sweet Josie is currently undergoing unexpected back surgery. Unfortunately their pet insurance isn’t covering the cost of this surgery and they have been hit with large vet bills as they fight to save Josie ❤️.

My sweet girl, Josie (3 years old) was diagnosed with IVDD last Thursday night and is in need of spine surgery.

Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) is a debilitating condition that affects the spinal cord, causing immense pain, paralysis, and can even lead to death.

Thursday afternoon Josie was showing the early signs of IVDD, she was very slow to walk and only standing for a few seconds before collapsing. We rushed her to the ER vet and as Josie was in the beginning stages of IVDD, they tried managing her pain with heavy pain medication and crate reset, however, it didn’t seem to be working. While at home Josie was still trembling from the pain, lost her appetite and within just 1 day she began to lose complete function in her back legs. We rushed her back to the ER vet, which the neurologist determined she will be needing surgery.

Josie is a sweet, playful, happy girl and would appreciate any contribution you can make towards her surgery and recovery.
