Help Josie Reach Food Freedom
Meet Josie — a beautiful, strong, and resilient 7-year-old warrior, who also happens to be my niece. Josie has been bravely battling severe food allergies since she was 6 months old, and she’s currently undergoing treatment at The Southern California Food Allergy Institute through TIP (Tolerance Induction Program). This life-changing program is helping Josie work toward “Food Freedom!”— a life without the constant fear of any reactions including anaphylactic reactions.
Every day, Josie takes on this challenge with courage and determination. Her treatment includes daily and weekly maintenance, plus daily dosing of new allergens. She’s already seen incredible progress, but the journey is far from over.
Her family is equally committed to helping Josie reach her goal. However, the past couple of years have brought unexpected hardships, including multiple surgeries for family members, changes in insurance coverage, and time off work. These challenges have placed a heavy financial strain on her parents.
My sister wouldn’t be one to admit that they could use some help, so that’s why I’m starting this GoFundMe — to support Josie’s continued care and make sure nothing stands in the way of her path to food freedom. The TIP program is highly effective, but it comes with significant costs: regular travel to California, lab work, medication, quarterly program fees, office visits, special food, and more.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will help Josie continue her treatment and give her the chance to live a full, fearless life. Thank you for being a part of her journey!
