Josie Ambroson Needs Our Help
Josie Ambroson had a debilitating stroke on December 5, 2024. She was sent immediately to Lewiston where she had three critical and lifesaving operations. While this saved her life, it left her totally paralyzed on the left side of her body. Josie began the first steps of rehabilitation in Lewiston, followed by continued rehabilitation in Portland, Boise, Milton-Freewater (twice), and Walla Walla. And there is more to go.
Last month, Josie moved to the Alpine House in Joseph, just two blocks from her parents’ residence. Her long-term goal is to move home to the Ambrosons’ home.
Like the strong woman she is, Josie continues to improve with the help and prayers from family and friends. It has been a long road, and there have been expenses not covered by insurance, and there will be ongoing expenses that insurance won’t cover. These include transportation and housing for her parents when she was in the hospital and rehabilitation, a ramp to make the Ambrosons’ home accessible for Josie in her wheelchair, mobility aids to help her get in and out of the house and car, and adaptations to make her bedroom and bathroom safe. Going forward, Josie will need professional caregiving, as well as physical and occupational therapy for her continued improvement. Of course, Josie has had no income to pay for these services since her stroke.
We hope this GoFundMe campaign will raise funds to reimburse the Ambrosons for the expenses already incurred and to establish a two-year fund to pay for the special care and therapy Josie needs and deserves.
Please contribute to the GoFundMe campaign as you can – our goal is to raise $50,000. The Ambrosons have given much to this community; this is our chance to give back. Your prayers, good wishes, and support are much appreciated by Josie and her beautiful family. We can do this – together!
