Hi, My name is Jen Coatman. I am fundraising on behalf of the Juell family for my beautiful niece, Josie, as she faces a challenging battle. Josie is a determined and strong 13-year-old student athlete with a loving and genuine personality. Josie has a passion for music, fashion, and—most of all—volleyball, her current favorite activity. Over the past few years, she has dedicated herself to developing her skills, playing on two club teams, her middle school team, and competing in several beach tournaments. She thrives on practicing, staying active through workouts, and being part of a team environment.

Earlier this year, Josie was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer. The past few months have been a whirlwind of appointments, tests, scans, planning, prayers and uncertainty. In early April, we learned that the cancer had not spread but would require multiple surgeries and an extensive chemo treatment plan. We are certain that Josie's resilient "never give up" attitude will carry her through this fight, along with the support of her sister Gigi, family, and friends, both near and far.

Johnny and Lindy's main focus is to get Josie the best possible care available. The out-of-pocket expenses are already adding up quickly. On top of medical, there are countless other needs and hidden costs associated with treatment and recovery. The road ahead will require Lindy to take significant time away from work and reduced income as they focus on providing Josie with the best possible care. Unfortunately, insurance only goes so far. Our goal is to help ease the financial burden so that their amazing family can commit all the time and energy needed to support Josie during this incredibly difficult time without the added weight of financial stress.
