Support Josie, a Single Mom of 3, After Car Accident
Donation protected
On May 22nd, Josie Haefner was in a car accident, thankfully everyone is alive, but this is going to be really hard for her
She was driving through the intersection of E. Maine and Division Street in Mankato with her 17-month-old baby in the back seat when another driver—distracted by her phone—ran a red light and smashed into Josie’s car. The impact was on the driver’s side, exactly where her baby sat rear-facing in a car seat.
Josie is a single mom of three young kids. She works hard to keep things steady, give them a safe home, and show up for every game, every appointment, and every bedtime snuggle. Like so many moms, she juggles everything on her own—quietly, constantly, without complaint.
But this accident brought everything to a halt.
Both Josie and her baby were shaken and taken for medical evaluation. Her vehicle was badly damaged. And what came next was the worst kind of familiar: missed work, mounting expenses, and no backup plan.
Being a single parent is already a full-time job. Now, Josie is facing recovery, transportation challenges, and the overwhelming pressure of holding her household together alone. She has to keep food on the table, rent paid, and her children feeling safe—all while navigating appointments, pain, and uncertainty.
This GoFundMe is to help Josie catch her breath and rebuild.
Funds will go directly to:
• Temporary income while she recovers and can’t work
• Childcare costs and family essentials
• Car replacement or repair
• Ongoing medical costs for her and her baby
She didn’t ask for this. She didn’t deserve it. And she won’t let it break her. But she could really use some help.
If you know Josie, you know her strength. But even the strongest moms need support sometimes. Please give what you can—or share this with someone who can. Every donation is a lifeline, a little more room to breathe, and a reminder that she’s not alone in this.
Thank you for helping this mom get back on her feet—for her kids, for her future, and for the love they share every single day.
