On October 28th, 2025, tragedy struck when Josiah Reyes, the teenage son of Julie Guerrero, a devoted single mother of three from Bryan, Texas, was involved in a horrific accident that left him clinging to life.
Josiah sustained life-threatening injuries, including a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) with intracranial hemorrhaging (bleeding in the brain) and multiple skull fractures. He also suffered compound (open) fractures to both arms and legs — where the broken bones protruded through the skin — as well as multiple rib fractures and a comminuted (shattered) pelvic fracture.
He was initially treated in College Station, but due to the seriousness of his condition, he was airlifted to Houston Methodist Children’s Hospital, Legacy Tower, for emergency surgery and specialized neurocritical care.
To help relieve dangerous brain swelling and intracranial pressure, doctors placed a cranial pressure monitor. Despite intensive treatment, Josiah suffered three seizures this morning as a result of the severe trauma to his brain. His condition remains critical and unstable, and doctors are unable to perform further surgeries until the brain swelling subsides.
Julie, a hardworking and loving single mother, is now living every parent’s worst nightmare — sitting beside her son’s hospital bed, praying for his healing while trying to hold her family together. She has had to take unpaid leave from work to stay at the hospital, leaving the family without income as medical bills, travel costs, and daily expenses continue to grow.
Please consider donating to their GoFundMe and sharing Josiah’s story. Every prayer, share, and contribution helps Julie focus on what matters most — being by her son’s side as he fights for his life.
Please keep Josiah and his family in your prayers.
