In these turbulent times, we all need a glimmer of hope. I am reaching out to ask for your support in a massive undertaking: bringing the incredible story of Josiah Henson to the global stage at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.
Why This Story Matters
Josiah Henson’s life is a remarkable testament to the human spirit. After enduring over 40 years of slavery, he escaped to Canada with his wife and four children and became a respected leader, minister, and teacher. His autobiography even inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe’s landmark novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
JOSIAH isn’t just a history lesson; it is a guide to finding resilience when the world feels dark. As critic Christopher Hoile noted, Henson’s story shows how one can "endure such physical and psychological trauma and not only survive but thrive."
Our Mission
After enthusiastic responses from Canadian audiences, we are officially "going for it." We will present JOSIAH at the Edinburgh Fringe from August 14–29, 2026. Taking a production overseas is a huge financial challenge, and we need your help to reach an international audience.
