My husband Joshua Matthes was on his way home from work on his BRAND NEW 2025 YZF-R7 after going into work at 4pm on April 16th it was sunny Thursday when he went into work. Upon leaving work it was really foggy but he had to head home. Less than 5 minutes after leaving work he was struck by a blue F-150 at the intersection of Sand Creek and Beecher Hwy in Adrian mi. Joshua was wearing his helmet and was found NOT AT FAULT the other driver was found at fault and issued several citations. After the investigation proceeded we found out the man who struck him does not have any insurance. My husband was taken to Henry ford and was in the trauma center then transferred to the ICU and was there for 30 hours. he was diagnosed with the following: a hole in his cheeck, road rash on his face, his right eye is swollen shut, dislocated thumb a separated/dislocated shoulder. A bruised chest with a cracked sternum broken clavicle a fractured rib two front teeth messed up a bleed on the brain and temporary urinary issues.
We are doing what we can to pay for as much as possible with the funds we have but due to the extent of the injuries we unfortunately can use some help paying the bills off. Any help is truly appreciated we would be so beyond grateful.
