# Help Joshua Recover After Life-Threatening Emergency Surgery

Hi everyone,

We never imagined a routine wisdom teeth removal would turn into a life-threatening medical emergency.

On May 7, my boyfriend Joshua had his wisdom teeth removed. After the procedure, he began experiencing severe throat pain, swelling, and worsening symptoms despite carefully following the aftercare instructions we were given. We contacted the dental office multiple times as his condition continued to worsen.

What we thought was a normal recovery quickly became terrifying.

Joshua’s infection spread aggressively and became life-threatening. He was rushed to the emergency room  on May 13, where doctors discovered a serious abscess infection  called LUDWIG ANGINA that required emergency surgery. Surgeons had to make an incision in his neck to place a drain and remove the infection. He was intubated and admitted into the ICU,  he is also currently on a feeding tube.  He will remain in the icu over a span of time and move to recovery.

This has been one of the most traumatic experiences of our lives.

Joshua has already missed weeks of work and now faces additional recovery time, ongoing medical care, hospital bills, medications, and other financial burdens while trying to heal physically and emotionally from this ordeal.

We are asking for help to ease the overwhelming medical and financial stress during his recovery. Every donation, share, and message of support means more to us than we can express.
