My name is Joshua, and I am a veteran and mental health nurse who has dedicated my life to helping others. Recently, I faced a mental health crisis that led to an arrest—something I never imagined would happen to me. I have never been in trouble with the law before. This situation has turned my world upside down, especially as I work to support my fiancé and our 12-year-old daughter, who has severe autism. The financial strain from legal fees, bond, and court costs is overwhelming, and I am now facing mental health court.
I have been involved in mental health treatment for several years and am fully medication and treatment compliant. Some of my PTSD comes from my service during Hurricane Katrina, where I was involved in the cleanup as a master at arms (police officer). For the past 16 years, I have worked as a nurse, mostly in the mental health field, and spent 8 years at a state facility. I have always tried to understand my own struggles while helping the person next to me, but now I find myself in need of help.
The funds raised will go directly toward rent, utilities, food, transportation, and care for my daughter. My fiancé and I have cut back to the bare necessities, but we are still struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time. I hope this message reaches you well. Your donation today will help me, my fiancé, and my daughter more than you can imagine. We've already been so blessed to have a community around us that understands mental health and doesn't judge. If you would like to join that community, please donate today. Thank you in advance—God will bless you as you bless others.
