Support Joshua’s Journey to Healing
My name is Donna, and I’m raising funds for my amazing 15-year-old son, Joshua. He was born with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB) — a rare and painfully progressive skin disorder with no cure and limited treatment options.
For years, we’ve been doing our best with the limited resources available where we live, but Joshua’s condition continues to worsen. Recently, we traveled to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to meet with a specialized EB care team — a place that finally feels like hope. The level of care and expertise there is exactly what Joshua needs, but it comes at a cost.
To continue getting Joshua the treatment he deserves, we’ll need to make frequent trips to Cincinnati for procedures and follow-ups. These trips include travel, lodging, and out-of-pocket medical expenses, all while trying to maintain our home and everyday bills.
I’ve recently had to make the incredibly hard decision to leave a job I loved to become Joshua’s full-time caregiver. I’ve always been the main provider for my family, but now, I’m doing everything I can to keep things together while focusing entirely on Joshua’s health and well-being.
I’m asking for $10,000 to help cover expenses needed when we start making frequent trips to Cincinnati starting in June 2025 — in making sure our travel expenses are covered I can feel comfortable in using my savings to stay ahead so that we have a home to come back to. This journey has been lonely, overwhelming, and financially draining, but Cincinnati offers a small light in a very dark tunnel.
If you can help, please know that every donation — no matter how small — brings us closer to healing, hope, and a better quality of life for Joshua. This disease has stolen so much from him, from us. He is so amazing, and he deserves all the top-notch care and treatment available to him.
Thank you for standing with us on this journey.
With love and gratitude,
