Hi! My name is Alicia. I am best friends with Joshua and Julie Meranda. I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of the Meranda's to assist with upcoming expenses due to Joshua's relapsed battle with Leukemia.

In December 2022, Joshua was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Joshua underwent aggressive treatments to eradicate the AML from his body. Through the grace of God, Joshua went into remission in August 2023, after a Stem Cell Transplant.

Through routine blood work in June, his oncologist found abnormalities within his blood, which resulted in additional testing to verify the AML had relapsed. The treatment for Joshua will include medication and infusions to push him into remission, before receiving another Stem Cell Transplant in Kansas City through KU. During the transplant time he will be away from his 2 young boys and his community for 100 days. Julie will be splitting her time between being a caretaker for Joshua (who needs someone to be with him 24/7) and the boys (who can't be around Joshua during the first 100 days). Between the cost of treatment, medications, childcare, and a second housing cost while living in KC, it will be expensive, but we know this is necessary for Joshua's healing.

While this relapse has placed a stumbling block into Joshua's plans, but not his purpose, the Lord continues to provide hope of healing for Joshua. “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
