Support Joshua Stewart's Recovery Journey

My name is Karnetta and I am the mom of Joshua Stewart. He has suffered from migraines as long as I can remember. On Wednesday, March 5, I received a frantic call from him, screaming in pain and needing to go to the ER immediately. I rushed to meet him and his roommate at the hospital, only to find him in unbearable agony. After a series of tests, the doctors discovered a cyst (measuring 4.7 x 4.3 x 4.4 cm) located at the back of his skull, extending into his spinal cord. This cyst, along with fluid buildup, was causing immense pressure on his brain.

That very night, an emergency surgery was performed to drain the fluid. A second surgery was scheduled for Sunday (3-9-25) afternoon to remove the cyst. The operation lasted five grueling hours, but thankfully, it was successful. Currently, he is under close monitoring to see if the fluid buildup persists. If it does, he will require a third surgery to insert a shunt—a tube that will drain the fluid from his brain to his abdomen. Once stable, he will need extensive therapy and rehabilitation.

This has been a devastating turn of events, especially as he had just started a new job three weeks ago. With no clear recovery timeline, he faces mounting financial challenges alongside the physical and emotional toll of his condition.
