As many of you may have heard by now - our beloved family member - Joshua Owen was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Josh is a single father of Harper Owen and has had many difficulties thrown at him over the last several years.
He has polycystic kidney disease and needed to receive a kidney transplant. During that time in 2019, he got what we believe was one of the early cases of COVID and spent a couple of long weeks, two different times, in the hospital and almost died. On the way home after being released from the second stint in the hospital he received the long-awaited call that they had a match for a kidney. But sadly, he was just beginning the recovery process and wasn't able to accept it. It was then another year later before he finally got the next call that a new kidney was available and underwent the transplant.
After receiving the new kidney he unfortunately still had issues which led to some struggles in employment. He had recently started a new job only to start having a continuous pain in his stomach. After getting the scan results, it was diagnosed as pancreatic cancer. On that same day of receiving this very devastating news, he got the call that he is losing his job and much-needed health insurance.
We are hoping to help with the medical bills and all around bills that he is enduring now without health insurance or being able to work. If you cannot donate, please share.
This is a difficult time and we are doing everything we can to keep Joshua as comfortable as possible and we hold out hope for a miracle, but the cancer has spread and he needs our assistance in these trying times.
