Support Joshua McCooey's Spooky Music Video

Donation protected
Hi everyone! I’m Joshua McCooey, an upcoming artist who dances, sings, and acts. I love to create, whether that be choreography or music, so it has been a blessing to be able to make music videos. Here are links to some

I’m starting this campaign to support my upcoming project, “Hall of Shame” Music Video. In the spirit of Halloween, I wanted to make something a little spooky, and way different than anything I’ve done in the past. Funds raised for this campaign go directly to support the video, most importantly supporting the artists who are dedicating their time and hard work to be able to make this video a reality.

Anything that you’re willing to donate towards this project goes a long way. Thank you very much!!

Our fundraising goal will cover dancer stipends, production and location expenses, post-production, as well as any marketing or promotional costs needed after final delivery. These include categories such as crew, gear rental, transportation, costume and set design and location rental.

The song “Hall of Shame” is aggressive, melodic and rhythmic. The narrative is a battle of wills between an individual and the voices that plague him, like a ghost haunting from the inside.

“Hall of Shame” the video, while reflecting similar themes, will lean into the ghost story aspects and present a kind of haunted house. The video will feature my peers from the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City to bring life to the rhythmic poetry of the song and provide the ghoulish company we want to see. The video will be cinematic in a Tim Burton meets MJ’s “Thriller” kind of way.

Format:
Approximately 3-min music video (short film.) I (Joshua) will perform the piece choreographed by me along with my dance crew collaborators.

We are aiming to create an artistically inspiring and entertaining work that lends itself to repeat listens and watch parties.

About us:
JOSHUA MCCOOEY - THE ARTIST

I’m Josh McCooey, an 18 year old from San Francisco Bay Area, attending Joffrey Ballet School Pre-Professional Dance program in New York City. In addition to dancing, I’ve been singing and acting since I could walk. I started writing music a few years back and started recording my songs a little over a year ago.

I’ve received some great encouragement from music press for my recent single releases:

“He knows exactly how to deliver some great hooks not just vocally but musically” - BuzzSlayers

“Laden with personal experience yet swirling with relatability, the track unveils his signature of pop-rock with poetic lyricism.”
- Malvika Padin, Earmilk

Music Videos have allowed me to do everything I love at once—dance, sing, and act. Over the past year, I have been releasing music which has acted like a journal of mine, documenting my life and experiences. It has been so rewarding to be able to share a bit of myself with all of you, in the best way I know how—music. Up until recently, I have recorded these songs back in California during breaks (winter, summer, spring, etc.). I am a full-time student at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, so these breaks were my moment to focus solely on my other musical interests, besides ballet. In February, I released a video showcasing dancers from the Joffrey Ballet School, who I am proud to call my friends, performing to my song “Dance with Me Sophie.” When I think about that experience, I know in my heart it is something I want to dedicate part of my life to—creating and collaborating in the pursuit of new and exciting art.

CULLEN BLANCHFIELD - DIRECTOR AND DP

Cullen is Director/DP based in New York City, specializing in capturing the human condition through documentary and commercial projects.
Cullen has had the pleasure of growing up and living around the United States including Upstate New York, The San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta, Dallas, and now New York City. This has sparked his curiosity about the variety of life experiences around the world, and how important it is to share those stories that aren’t easily accessed.
Cullen is passionate about elevating stories visually. Whether it is an individual's life experience, a brand's mission, or simply a group's purpose, his favorite challenge is transforming these expressions into visuals. Cinematically representing an individual's emotional experience is his favorite challenge as a director and cinematographer.

Cullen has worked with Joshua in both production and pre-production on Joshua’s last three projects.

Of course there's no obligation. Any contribution will be deeply appreciated, including just sharing our campaign with your family and friends.

Thank you!
