Support Joshua Manley's Life-Changing Brain Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Missy and I'm raising funds for my friend Joshua Manley.
Josh suffers from Chiari malformation, which he has had since birth. He's scheduled for a decompression surgery called suboccipital craniectomy and C1 laminectomy with duraplasty in January 2025. A brief description of this surgery is where a portion of the skull and C1 vertebra is removed at the base of the brain in order to create more room for the brainstem and tonsils. This will alleviate his worsening pain and allow the flow of cerebrospinal fluid to return to normal.
Josh currently lives in sober living and has been working hard to create a life of sobriety. I have seen strides in his recovery, including a change in attitude and mindset towards life. One of the driving factors into sobriety is his 9-year-old daughter, who he has not seen in years and hopes to be part of her life someday.
This surgery will initially cause excruciating pain and the recovery time can be up to 3 months, during which Josh will not be able to work to cover his bills. All funds raised will go toward his bills while he's recovering and anything above will go toward sober living and help him start a career at a local trades company.
This will be a life changing surgery for Josh and I ask that you help support his journey into a long, pain-free life.
