With heavy hearts, we ask for your support for our dear friend, Joshua Jean—a dedicated firefighter, loving father, and devoted husband—who is facing an unimaginable loss. Joshua and his wife, Santina, shared over 20 years together and built a beautiful life centered around love and family. After enduring multiple miscarriages, they were overjoyed to learn they were expecting another child. Wanting to protect their joy, they kept the pregnancy private and looked forward to welcoming their baby girl.
In December 2025, while pregnant, Santina sought medical attention for a lump in her neck and was devastatingly diagnosed with leukemia and a rare, aggressive TP53 mutation. What followed was a six-month battle marked by incredible strength, courage, and determination. Despite every challenge she faced, Santina never stopped fighting for her family. On January 16, 2026, their daughter, Aniyah, was born at just 24 weeks gestation and remains in the NICU, continuing her own brave fight. Throughout her hospitalization, Santina endured long periods of isolation and was only able to spend limited time with the people she loved most. On Saturday, June 6, 2026, after a courageous battle, Santina passed away peacefully. She was only 33 years old.
Joshua is now grieving the loss of his wife, best friend, and partner while caring for their 10-year-old daughter Anisha and supporting baby Aniyah through her NICU journey. As he navigates life without Santina, he faces overwhelming emotional, medical, and financial challenges. We are raising funds to help ease some of the burdens ahead, including medical expenses, childcare, daily living costs, funeral expenses, and the ongoing needs of his daughters. If you are able, please consider donating. No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference for this family during their time of grief. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser and keep Joshua, Aniyah, Anisha, and their loved ones in your thoughts. Thank you for helping us honor Santina’s memory and support the family she loved so deeply. Her strength, love, and legacy will live on through her daughters and all those whose lives she touched.
