Emergency Help Needed to Keep Joshua and His Pup Housed

Joshua needs help urgently to avoid eviction this week for himself and his puppy. He was laid off two months ago from his primary audio-visual installation job. He has quickly picked up work installing security cameras, but after a month and a half of showing up every day, he still hasn’t been paid a single dollar. Although he has applied constantly to countless jobs across industries, he has not secured any new employment.

Without any income for almost two months, Joshua is two months behind in rent. His landlord calls every other day, warning that he may be evicted by the end of the first full week in November. The time has run out; he has nowhere else to turn.

Joshua can manage sleeping in his car if he has to—but not his puppy. The thought of his pup being out in the cold or losing the only home he knows is just more than Joshua can bear.

Through it all, Joshua keeps finding ways to give back to his community. Currently, he is appearing as Damis in Tartuffe at Silver Spring Stage and continuing to advocate for theatre and the arts even as his own situation grows increasingly dire.

We are seeking $2,600 for Joshua immediately to halt the eviction and stabilize while continuing his job search. The money donated will make a direct and immediate difference in keeping Joshua and his pup safe, warm, and under a roof.
