Help A Widower After His Wife's Unexpected Passing
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Breanna and I am writing this on behalf of my father, Joshua.
Last week on March 12th my mother and Josh’s wife, Renee, unexpectedly passed away. Renee was an MS warrior who was diagnosed with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) in late 2019. Thanks to an amazing team of doctors and my mom’s sheer will to keep pushing, she was able to come home after a short few months and avoided a heart surgery that we previously believed to be inevitable. Because of her heart condition, my dad has been her full-time caretaker for the last six years. Whether it was cooking and cleaning, or sitting beside her through multiple hospital stays, my dad’s entire schedule consisted of caring for my mom, their home, and his grandchildren.
On March 2nd my mother, Renee, was taken to the hospital due to what we believed were symptoms of her CHF. Unfortunately, the truth was that she had an unknown infection that was slowly eating away at her body. She fought hard for 10 days with an incredible team of doctors in both the Cardiac & Respiratory ICU in Pittsburgh, but sadly her body was unable to overcome the multitude of issues caused by this infection. The loss of my mom was unexpected and absolutely soul crushing for all of us, but especially for her life partner of over 30 years.
Having been her full-time caretaker, my dad has been unable to work for the last 6 years. They had been living off of my mom’s SSI, which will now be terminated as my mother has passed. My father plans to find a job as soon as possible to cover his mortgage, utilities, and day to day expenses, however this is understandably an incredibly difficult time for him. We ask for your help today to support Josh in grieving his wife without the fear of losing his home. Watching him struggle with the loss of his wife as well as trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage is heartbreaking for my sister and I. Our goal is to give my dad a safety net and time to process this incredible loss.
Any donation, no matter how small, would make an incredible impact during this tragic time for my family. My mom and dad bought this house together 20 years ago, raised my sister and I here, and made precious memories with their grandchildren who still treasure and love this home. I want for my dad to have the opportunity to continue making beautiful memories in this home with his grandchildren. If you are unable to donate, please share with your friends and family. We thank you all for the overwhelming support and love that we’ve received during this time. Renee was clearly loved by many, so we ask that you help her husband grieve her without the burden of financial struggles.
Thank you,
