Hello MAKfam community. We're reaching out again to help one of our own with unforeseen medical debt from a scary brush with congestive heart failure. Josh is a treasured member of our team, proud dad to some beautiful laying hens, and a great guy who makes our day brighter every time we see him.
For some time, Josh had been feeling unusually lethargic and unwell. Despite his discomfort, he continued to push through, showing up every day to his strenuous job on wok at MAKfam. Things took a serious turn when he was diagnosed with heart failure caused by an unknown illness. He ended up being hospitalized for over 1.5 weeks, where doctors discovered that he was carrying more than 70 lbs of excess water weight due to his condition. This was causing severe strain on his heart and body.
During his hospital stay, he was prescribed 12 different medications and received intensive care, but he still has a long road to recovery ahead. He will need ongoing follow-up appointments and additional medical treatment in the coming months. Luckily the doctors were able to address the urgent issues and get him back on his feet literally and figuratively. Now he's back at work and feeling better, we are coming together to help him with the financial strain caused by his brush with the American healthcare system. While we provide health insurance at MAKfam, the bills are still overwhelming.
We are asking for your generosity to help Josh cover the costs of his medical bills and help ease some of the financial stress. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a huge difference and help ensure that he can fully recover without the constant worry of overwhelming debt.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your support—whether through donations, kind words, or spreading the word—means the world to Josh and the whole crew at MAKfam.
