On July 31st, Josh (23) suffered a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) at work. The doctors say permanent brain damage has resulted. He was taken to OHSU and in the Trauma ICU for 2 weeks. He is now awake and moved out of ICU.

Josh is working hard on physical, occupational and speech therapy. Currently, the right side of his body doesn't show any signs of movement, and he cannot speak. He is learning to express himself in other ways, but it's definitely not easy. But Josh is a fighter and he’s not giving up!

If you personally know Josh, you know that the love of his life is his 4-year-old daughter, and Little Miss Sunshine is missing him deeply. Josh is an amazing full time single dad and takes great care of his princess. She knows he's hurt and has been told that the doctors are working to help him. In the meantime, there are expenses for her current and future needs. Since this was a work accident Workman's compensation will take care of most of the medical bills, but after Josh leaves the hospital, there will be numerous bills for years to come. The funds raised will help defer the cost of Josh and Sophia's needs such as preschool daycare, supplemental therapies for Josh, play therapy for Sophia, and modifications for Josh to be at home.

The outpouring of love and support from friends and family has been so wonderful! People have helped in many ways; visiting Josh, bringing food, watching Sophia, making a sleepover room at Josh's parents' house, etc., but the financial needs are lifelong.
