Hi everyone,
We are reaching out to ask for your support for our beloved Josh, who has been bravely battling an autoimmune disease called Ulcerative Colitis. After months of enduring severe symptoms and countless hospital visits, he was admitted to UVA Charlottesville Hospital on Christmas Eve. After several weeks, Josh underwent a major surgery to have his entire colon removed in hopes of reclaiming his health. Josh was released from the hospital after surgery but had to return due to complications with the surgery.
Great news—Josh was released from the hospital this past Monday, March 24, because he was finally responding to the medical treatment post-surgery!
Josh had been in and out the hospital since Christmas Eve, facing not only the physical and emotional toll of his diagnosis but also the growing financial burden that comes with extensive medical care. His wife, Elley, has been by his side every step of the way, all while working as a dedicated teacher, maintaining their home, and taking care of their chickens and two dogs, Eddie & Finn. They are currently navigating this challenging time on a single income, and the mounting medical bills are becoming overwhelming.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease their financial stress and allow them to focus on Josh's recovery. The funds raised will go toward:
• Medical expenses and hospital bills
• Ongoing treatments and medications
• Follow-up care and physical therapy
• Daily living expenses during his recovery
Josh and Elley both have shown incredible strength, and we are hopeful for brighter days ahead. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, would mean the world to our family. Your kindness and generosity will make a significant impact during this difficult time.
Together, we can help lighten their load and bring comfort and hope as they move forward.
With gratitude,
