My name is Jennipher Nunez and two nights ago, I watched my husband get crushed and almost die right in front of my face. I can’t close my eyes or have more than two seconds to myself without replaying everything over and over again.
Friday night, my husband, brother, and I were driving to my mother's farm when it started raining off and on. Right when we went through the last burst of rain, Josh looked over and spotted an overturned truck in the ditch. He immediately pulled over with out hesitation and to the truck. My brother jumped out of the back seat and across the road to be with Josh and talk to the driver and passenger. I immediately called 911 and was trying to give them our location. I walked across the road to the truck and could hear them both talking to Josh and my brother saying they had bumps and bruises but were ok. As I was relaying the information to the 911 operator I heard a thump which didn’t make any sense because no one was around. I was at at the front of the turned over truck by the wheel when shortly after headlights illuminated my husband and the entire underside of the truck. I looked in my husbands eyes as the front of the car going 60mph or faster slammed into the love of my life and hearing him screaming. I thought I was watching my husband get killed. The impact was done with such force that it had caved the top of the truck in and around Joshs body pinning him between the truck roof and the car that stuck in the mud. My brother and I were screaming at the driver to reverse and he said he couldn’t so my brother somehow was able to push the car off him where he collapsed immediately.
The driver of the car was traveling in the opposite direction we were on a 2 lane divided highway. He had for what ever reason came across 2 lanes, jumped the median into the ditch, and right into my husband.
So far he has had 3 surgeries in 4 days and is scheduled for a fourth on Friday. He is in ICU and will be for a long time. We are 2.5 hours from home and our daughter who can’t see her daddy because he is in the ICU.
Josh needs continuous surgeries, and eventually intensive physical therapy. He is a CDL driver and with all this, it’s going to be impossible for him to work for a long time. We need so much help and bills are stacking quickly. We need help badly, anything will help. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us and are continuing to pray. My husband was saved by the grace of God.
