Hey Friends! My Name is Shawndra, and I am a long time friend of Josh. (over 20 years) I am not good at writing, so i will just tell my story of how I see Joshua.

He has ALWAYS been, such a positive influence in my life since we met just after high school. He was the cool guy that everyone was friends with. He drove a COOL firebird right after high school. He was talented in just about everything he did! I never saw Josh as a person with a disability. Never do you hear him complain about his health or issues going on. Instead, is always genuinely concerned about everyone else around him. Helping others in any way he can, whether advice, or the shirt off his back.

Josh was born with a few different complications. Countless Dr visits, and operations. Born with only 1 kidney, eventually his kidney failed Josh, which led to dialysis. Approx 3x a week, several hours a day, hooked to a machine. Again never complained about this. At age 14, he was donated his first kidney, from a family member Karl. This kidney lasted him about 7-8 years. In 2015, another kidney transplant, Which immediately rejected. He has since been back on dialysis for the last 5 years. Until that phone call came in, on Monday May 5th, that there was a kidney for him in Syracuse. He and Alicia rushed to Syracuse to have life changing kidney transplant surgery that evening.

So as you can imagine this has all come SO unexpectedly. He will soon be discharged from the hospital, and unable to return back to work, for an unknown amount of time. His wife has also taken a leave from work to care for him. They will be traveling back and forth from home to Syracuse for Dr appts, 3 or more times weekly. He has been put on countless new medications, and bills are already piling up.

Josh would greatly benefit from any help that his friends and family would like to donate in these very hard times. I know that I personally have known Josh donate to so many good causes, whether its his time, in helping others...money.... or his entire closet to someone in need.
