On September 3, our son, Josh, will undergo extensive back surgery at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The surgery is expected to be long, and he will spend several days in the ICU before beginning what we know will be a challenging recovery.

As Josh’s parents, creating a GoFundMe was never something we wanted to do. We are very private people and have always tried to handle life’s challenges on our own. More than anything, we simply ask for your prayers—for Josh, his surgeons, the medical team, and for strength, peace, and comfort for our family during this difficult time.

Many friends and family have asked how they can help. Because of that, we decided to create this page. We are not expecting or asking for donations, but if you feel led to help in another way, every gift will be deeply appreciated. Any contributions will go toward hotel accommodations near the hospital, meals while we’re away from home, and boarding our dog so we can remain by Josh’s side throughout his hospitalization and recovery.
